What type of parasite preventions do you use?
We give every kitten a dose of Revolution, which is a flea, ear mite, and worm treatment. Most of our breeding cats are part of Banfield's wellness plan and get twice yearly worming, fecal tests, and blood work done to check for internal organ problems.
Human can give cats ringworm and cats can give humans ringworm, so after every cat show all of our cats (not just the ones that went to a show) get an anti fungal bath. Even though we have a no touching policy at cat shows, every judge touches all 250 cats and there are at least 12 judges, so our cats are indirectly touching all those cats, and all those owners who let people touch our cats are also indirectly touching our cats. If you are at a show with a child, I highly recommended not letting the child touch cats as children have almost no defense against ringworm and neither do cats.
And we never let our cats mouse. Mice and birds can have worm, so if these critters wonder into your home, do the best you can to not let the cats eat them.
