Have any cats been returned or surrendered back to you and why?

This is an important question. Any breeder should take cats back on a surrender basis to keep it out of shelters. We’ve had one allergy return and it was surrender. We put in our application asking people to test for allergies if they have never had a cat before.

And if a breeder is contacted about a health issue, they should reasonably work with the adopter. If you let your cat outside and it got run over, or chewed through an electric cord at your home, that is not a health issue the breeder is responsible for.

If a breeder is getting returned cats left and right, there is probably something wrong, such as not screening adopters or not socializing enough as kittens so that cats are terrified when they go to their new homes and never settle in.

We encourage everyone to contact us immediately about a health issue so we can work with them and give advice. An issue that comes up a lot is that not all vets are “cat vets”.  Please do contact us if it has been longer than your health warranty too. We want to know about any health problems in our bloodlines and we will always be reasonable.

We do extend a full health warranty if you feed Life’s Abundance by up to 4 years total. Since Life’s Abundance has never been recalled and is holistic, it can prevent many common cat problems than result for eating corn, wheat, and meat by-products. And since can food helps prevent many kidney and urinary problems, we also extend it for that reason if you feed their can food.
