How long have you been breeding and how do you improve your bloodlines over the years and monitored arthritis in your folds? Does it set in before 7 years of age (cats are seniors at around 7-8 years old but should live to be teenagers with proper care and health screening)?

Cat with arthritis are medical cats for us, NOT pet quality. If a breeder does not show, they have no clue what a healthy tail is. Don’t forget, kittens are babies and are very flexible. Arthritis may take weeks to months to show and any breeder should have been breeding for years to give long term prognosis for arthritis in their bloodlines.

Arthritis is covered in our health guarantee. Let us know at any time about arthritis before 8 years old. We are willing to work with adopters because we stand behind our bloodlines. So far we’ve only had 1 person contact us about suspected limping, but it cleared up within days.

We are currently working to replace our Brits with their higher quality Scottish straight kittens. It is easier to bring in Brits when looking a new color to work with than reputably bred folds. However, our goal is always the progression of the breed so we are looking to replace them with their higher quality kittens. We are breeding in long hair genes and breeding out b blood type.

Our goal is always to replace a queen by 5-8 years of age. After 8 the chances of birth going drastically wrong is just too high. Many breeders breed queens until they can no longer do so, well after 10 years of age.
